Discover Albuquerque’s downtown hidden art space, The Groove

ALBUQUERQUE — The Groove Artspace, founded and directed by Erika Harding and Alison Robben in 2023 invites visitors exploring downtown Albuquerque to experience a new world.

The Artspace is a teaching space, art studio and a gallery. It offers an ongoing gallery titled “Naked,” a collaborative exhibit with 33 New Mexico artists and 75 pieces of art.

“We are a bunch of things, we are a mashup. We are a teaching space, so I’m teaching a class right now. We are artists studios, and there are two artists in their studios. We have four studios here and we are a gallery,” Harding said.

The space is rented for workshops and retreats for artists of all mediums.

Hardingan, an artist herself, knew many artists who struggled to find a space to work and teach their art. A group of artists thought it would be a good idea to rent one spot, Harding said.”
