The Groove Artspace is led by Erika Harding (Owner and Director) and Alison Robbenhaar (Co-Director). Erika is a local consultant who specializes in community education and engagement (please see her other business, Amplify Consulting). She is also an established mosaic artist and teacher. She runs Erika Harding Mosaics . Alison is a painter and chef with a background in arts education.
Our small, women-owned business engages partners who lease space (studios, retail space, teaching space) and run their independent art businesses in collaboration with The Groove Artspace. We offer youth, teen and adult-focused events, introductory mosaic and painting classes with established local teaching artists, advanced art workshops, live model drawing groups and special guest artist seminars. Some classes and workshops will be offered in Spanish. We offer daytime and evening hours, and will often have artists doing their art in public on Gold Ave.
Our Mission
We strive to create an equitable and inclusive community art space, nurture artistic talent and cultivate a supportive and thriving creative environment for all.

We provide a wide array of arts classes, with options for every age, interest and level of experience.

We provide low-cost/high-value studios for artists and makers to operate their independent businesses in collaboration with The Groove. These artists exhibit their work in the gallery, teach classes, mind the store and share in the collective operation of the space.

We serve as an “accidental gallery,” providing exhibit space to diverse artists, including emerging artists who have not previously had the opportunity for gallery representation.

We provide event and meeting space to the community. We also work with schools and non-profit organizations to co-create beautiful community artwork.
Please expect to pay for parking on Gold Avenue (using coins or a payment app). There is also a paid parking lot at 2nd and Gold and another at the west end of the block on Gold. Street parking is free after 5pm. PLEASE DO NOT PARK AT THE BANK PARKING LOT ACROSS THE STREET- EVEN WHEN THE BANK IS CLOSED! THEY TOW…
